How to start
What can Great Water Upholstery help you with?
Its hard to find employees in today’s market. Even worse for upholstery shops, its hard to find someone whiling to learn sewing. As more and more upholsters retire that leaves less shops to serve an ever growing market.
We sew for you. We can grow with you. We have an unlimited amount of sewers sewing for you!
Many marine upholstery shops today have lead times of 3-4 months or more. Some even up to 10 months! Our current lead time is about 1 month. 1 month from deposit you receive the vinyl skins. This 1 month includes shipping.
With Great Water Upholstery, you can bring your overburdened shop back into reason or take on more work.
Not only will we be able to sew for much less than anyone else, our vinyl is far more economical than others. Fear not! Our vinyl has been tested for bacteria and mold at independent labs according to AATCC 100 and AATCC 30 test methods.
You can feel confident that saving money won’t result in a poor performing marine vinyl.
If your looking to start an upholstery shop but fear your lack of sewing will hold you back? We can help. We will teach you how to use a scanner and clean up the 3D mesh.
The hardest part you need to learn is to remove staples from the old vinyl. Then heat, stretch and staple the new vinyl. Not much to start!
Storing templates take up space. Even if you could fold templates, organizing and storing is a pain. Templates get lost or damaged rendering a complete boat template useless. Will that client ever come back with that same boat? Will I ever do that same boat again?
Your templates are stored automatically. Once you upholster a boat, that boat will be in the computer forever. This is nice if you upholster the same boat or cushion often. Keeping a client’s CAD on hand will allow that customer to return to you in the future; saving you both time and money as you never have to scan his boat again!
